I would design it as an open class. It sounds as if the students would really learn that way. If they aren't listening to one teacher they will hear another.

i was skeptical about it at first but i think i really liked the open class concept. you would be able to hear the different teachers teaching different things...and even if you aren't focusing entirely you're still hearing educational things at all times.

i would probably design an open classroom just because i would wanna see what it was like and how the learning concept would be

I would design a school with wide hallways so students could travel in between classes easier. I would hire staff members who have their hearts into teaching and helping students achieve their goals. Giving staff members and students time to socialize would make students feel comfortable to bring their problems to an adult before the issue got out of hand. I would try to make the school inviting so students would want to attend everyday.

If I could design a school I would also design an open class because I think that students would learn better in that enviornment, and it would not feel so closed in. Also the students could hear other teachers teach.

I think that having an open school would benefit some students but I also think that for some it would not work. So I would have a school that is a little bit of both. Half of the school would be open class and the other closed, because some can work with noise and others can't. Then the students would be allowed to pick which style of class they would like to be in and also if they would like to be in a class that is more hands on, more verbal, or more visual.

If I could design the school. I'd have a HUGE school in a circle with out the middle. I there would be some open class room areas, and for more intense subjects they could be in a closed room. But I would have the middle of the school be outside. Alot of kids feel comfortable out side and on pretty days that feel great they could go outside to learn, eat, and hang out with friends. but i would have hall ways that connected one side to the other for the circle to help people changing in between classes.

If I were to design a school I would have the same policies as an open class however there would be actual walls and doors to prevent other teachers distracting you. So students could leave the classroom and find something else to learn. ...

if it had to designate a school it would be opened, for all the persons and this way all the persons would learn better

if i were going to design the perfect school, my school would a school with two building. one building would be the strictly academic building and the other would be the specialty building. this would be were a student could do welding, machine work, landscaping, all the works that dont need a college degree. cause the reality is that not everyone is going to make it to college and that facility would give them a head start on others in that field when they got out of high school.

i would design a school where we would start at like 10 and get out at like 400 but there would be only a little bit of rules...and miss hall would be my administrator....

I would want it to be an open class. I think that it would be different and I think students would really learn alot that way. Like Mrs.Hall said in class this week.. if students arent interested or listening to their own teacher atleast they would be learning or listening to another teacher around them.. and listening to something that they are interested in. Thats just how I see it..

if i had to design a school, i would make it both open classrooms and traditional classrooms because everyone learns differently. open classrooms would benefit some but might not be the right learning style for everyone. that way, if kids know what way they learn best, they can choose that method.

i like tara's idea. even the circle thing. why not? lol.

i think it would give students more freedom. when theyre in class and have some down time, they could listen to another lesson from another teacher so they would constantly be learning. also, it some student need to have a little more help than others, they could choose to be in a closed classroom where they can have one on one learning if needed.

The classroom I would design would be also be open classroom. I would just want to try something different and besides it might help the students in their learning even thougth the teachers would have a hard time coping with the change.

I agree that the best type of school be an open school. It does seem that students would learn mor if they were given the option of what to learn, rather than put in a class room that tells them what they have to learn

it would be equal because i dont think schools these days are equal

of course i'll start with attendance. i think more leniancy should be given to students with absences and tardies. tardies to
1st block should be excused because traffic or sleeping late in can cause you to fail a course. as long as a student maintains a good grade and as long as absences are within reason i think they should be forgiven. i don't think ISS is a suitable punishment for tardies. the whole premise of enforcing the tardy procedure is so that students will not miss class time. if a student is a few minutes late to class too many times, even just a few minutes, they are issued ISS. in ISS you do not have the opportunity to complete schoolwork of any kind. your assignments for the block(s) you miss are not sent to you in ISS. the student then has to take more time out of their day to get all of the assignments missed and make them up on their own time when they could have used their time in ISS to complete it and actually learn what affects their grade instead of copying the ammendments to the constitution. starting from the first. every time. the next time a student has too many tardies the ISS time is doubled, so on so forth, exponentially worsening the students grade and making it harder and harder to catch up. Next is the staff of a school. a teacher should care about whether or not a student will pass or fail. teachers should be compassionate and understanding of a students needs and difficulties. grades should depend more on what the student has learned than when the student turned their work in. Mrs. Hammond should not say things like "thats not my problem" when certain students completed the work before it was due and were absent the day she asked for it and be given a 0 the next day. these statements are completely unbiased.

I kinda like the open class idea i am currious about how it would work and turn out.
